If I were planning another trip to Da Nang, I would give myself three full days to explore the main attractions without turning the holiday into a race from one place to another. The city is easy to get around by car, but the heat and walking can be tiring, especially around midday. I found that leaving some breathing room between activities made the experience much more enjoyable. Day 1: Marble Mountains, My Khe Beach, and Dragon Bridge 8:00 AM – Breakfast and coffee Start the day with a Vietnamese coffee and a light breakfast. I would choose a local spot near the hotel rather than traveling across town just for breakfast. A bowl of pho or mi quang is a good way to begin the morning. 9:00 AM – Visit Marble Mountains Allow around 1.5–2 hours to explore the caves, pagodas, and viewpoints. The steps can be steep, so comfortable shoes are a much better choice than sandals with slippery soles. Going early also helps you avoid the strongest afternoon heat. 11:30 AM – Lunch near the city Head back toward Da Nang for lunch. This is a good time to try mi quang, a regional noodle dish served with herbs, rice crackers, and a flavorful broth. 1:00 PM – Rest at your hotel I would not schedule another major attraction immediately after lunch. Take a break, shower, or relax in an air-conditioned room. This pause makes a real difference when the weather is hot and humid. 4:00 PM – My Khe Beach Visit the beach when the sun starts to feel less intense. You can swim if conditions are safe, walk along the sand, or simply sit by the water for a while. 6:30 PM – Seafood dinner Da Nang is known for its seafood, so this is a good evening to try grilled prawns, clams, or fish. Check the prices and portion sizes before ordering, particularly when choosing seafood sold by weight. 8:00 PM – Dragon Bridge and the Han River Finish the day with a riverside walk. If your visit falls on a night when the fire and water show is scheduled, you can plan around it after checking the current timetable. Day 2: Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang City 8:00 AM – Breakfast Have breakfast before heading toward Son Tra Peninsula. Bring drinking water and make sure your phone or camera is charged, as you will probably want to stop for photographs along the way. 9:00 AM – Linh Ung Pagoda Visit the pagoda and see the Lady Buddha statue overlooking the sea. Spend some time enjoying the views rather than rushing straight back to the car. 10:30 AM – Explore Son Tra Peninsula Enjoy the coastal scenery and designated viewpoints that are accessible on the day. Roads and access conditions can vary, so check local restrictions before traveling farther into the peninsula. 12:00 PM – Lunch in Da Nang Return to the city for lunch. I would keep this meal relatively relaxed because the afternoon is better suited to indoor activities. 1:30 PM – Han Market Spend around an hour browsing local coffee, packaged snacks, souvenirs, and other goods. Compare prices at several stalls before buying, especially if you are purchasing gifts for friends or family. 3:00 PM – Café break Da Nang has plenty of cafés where you can escape the heat for a while. This is also a good opportunity to try Vietnamese iced coffee and plan the evening without feeling rushed. 5:00 PM – Free time or a beachside walk Depending on your energy level, return to My Khe Beach or enjoy a walk around the city center. I would leave this part flexible rather than adding another attraction just to fill the schedule. 7:00 PM – Dinner and a relaxed evening Choose a restaurant based on what you feel like eating that day. You could try local noodles, Vietnamese pancakes, or another seafood meal. If you still have energy, enjoy the riverside at night; otherwise, an early night is perfectly reasonable. Day 3: Hoi An Ancient Town 8:30 AM – Breakfast and departure Have breakfast and travel from Da Nang to Hoi An. The drive often takes around 45–60 minutes, depending on your starting point and traffic, so allow extra time if you have a fixed booking. 9:30 AM – Explore the old town Walk through the historic streets, admire the yellow buildings, browse small shops, and visit heritage sites that interest you. If you plan to enter specific historical attractions, check the current ticket arrangements. 12:00 PM – Lunch in Hoi An Try cao lau, a noodle dish closely associated with Hoi An, or choose one of the town's other local specialties. I would pick a restaurant after looking at the menu and finding somewhere comfortable rather than choosing solely because it is popular online. 1:30 PM – Coffee and a slower afternoon Take a break at a café, browse the shops, or explore some of the quieter lanes. The old town is much more enjoyable when you leave time for small discoveries instead of trying to visit every landmark. 3:30 PM – Continue exploring Use the afternoon to visit any heritage sites you missed earlier or enjoy a leisurely walk along the river. If the weather is particularly hot, spend more time indoors and save the outdoor walking for later. 5:00 PM – Early dinner or a snack Have an early meal or try a few local snacks before the evening crowds become heavier. This also means you will not need to interrupt your evening walk to find a restaurant when everything gets busy. 6:00 PM – Enjoy Hoi An after sunset This is the part of the day I would most want to experience without a strict schedule. The lantern-lit streets and riverfront create a completely different atmosphere from Da Nang. You can take photographs, browse the night market, or simply enjoy the scenery. 7:30–8:00 PM – Return to Da Nang Arrange your return transportation in advance, particularly if you are staying until after dark. The exact departure time can depend on traffic, your dinner plans, and how long you want to spend in the old town. Practical Tips for Following This Itinerary Book transportation around your plans. A private car can be convenient when combining several stops, while taxis and ride-hailing services work well for shorter trips around the city. Avoid overloading the middle of the day. The heat can make even a short walk tiring, so use lunchtime for a proper meal and a break. Keep the schedule flexible. Rain, traffic, and unexpected discoveries may change your plans. The itinerary works best as a guide rather than a list of appointments. Check opening times and event schedules. Attraction access, heritage-site ticket arrangements, and the Dragon Bridge show schedule can change. Consider personalized arrangements if you want a more comfortable trip. If you would rather spend less time coordinating transportation and activities, you can contact vietnoblesse.com to discuss options for a more luxurious, personalized Da Nang experience. Three days will not cover every corner of Da Nang, but it is enough to experience its coastal scenery, cultural attractions, local food, and the atmosphere of Hoi An without feeling exhausted. Personally, I would rather enjoy these places at a comfortable pace than squeeze in five or six stops every day.
